What changed in the Malaga shortlist

The central Malaga shortlist is now stricter: NH Malaga, Petit Palace Plaza Malaga, Catalonia Molina Lario, B&B Hotel Malaga Centro, and ibis Malaga Centro Ciudad have official dog-and-cat wording, while Only YOU Hotel Malaga and Soho Boutique Malaga are better treated as dog-only choices.

We are not promoting AC Hotel Malaga Palacio, Barcelo Malaga, Eurostars Malaga, Exe/Dorma Malaga Museos, or SOL Malaga Guadalmar for regular pet stays because their official pages either reject pets or limit the exception to assistance dogs.

How to choose the right central option

• For cats, start with the dog-and-cat hotels first instead of dog-only labels.
• For small dogs, Only YOU and Soho can work, but both should be checked against their dog-only weight wording before payment.
• For bigger dogs, compare B&B Hotel Malaga Centro and NH Malaga first because their official limits are clearer than most central alternatives.
• For budget-focused dog or cat stays, ibis Malaga Centro Ciudad is useful, but the final nightly fee and approval should still be reconfirmed.

Before payment

• Request-only hotels still need written approval for the exact room type, pet type, weight, and stay dates.
• Petit Palace is a strong direct-book option, but the no-extra-fee rule is tied to official-site bookings; other channels may add a stay fee.
• Do not rely on a convenient location if the official policy says pets are not allowed or only assistance dogs are exempt.
